Topic Sunday Roast

In Sheffield and nearby cities people enjoy Sundays by taking their families to a restaurant and having a roast. Sunday roast is a meal represents family and friends bringing everyone together (Clay, 2015). It become the most important meal around the mid-nineteenth to mid-twentieth century because Sunday was the only rest day for workers and therefore a day spent with family. The whole meal is built around a piece of meet which is usually beef but lamb, pork and poultry are also acceptable but the meat should be roasted. Meat is usually served with grave and certain sauces depending on the meat. Yorkshire pudding, a baked batter pudding, is a classic accompaniment to roast beef. Vegetables served with the roast often included potatoes, parnips, carrots, peas or green beans. (Mason, 2004).
