Topic E-mail communication

During my stay in Madrid at the CEU San Pablo University, I encountered different experiences regarding emails/ official communication.

In HOWEST Kortrijk we learned since the beginning of our degree, that writing in a formal way was really important. And since this, I am very keen on that myself and I really pay attention to the way emails are written.

In Madrid I had 5 different courses and 4 teachers. It marked me how 3 of them were really unformal and unofficial in their writing. The teacher I had for 2 courses was himself of 'the old'-formality. He was really formal and polite in his emails.

After a few weeks I realised the pattern of the different teachers, but I was not very comfortable with it. It was weird writing/talking in an unformal way to teachers. So even if most of them were really unformal and laid-back, I kept writing formal emails and I think they appreciated that.
