1.3 The learning objective of the online course

The overall goal and learning objective of the online course “Intercultural communication” is to enable participants to navigate intercultural relations and communication situations appropriately and effectively by creating a common ground of understanding, negotiating culture, and co-creating meaning.

In other words, the purpose is to equip participants with the competences required to analyse intercultural situations, thus enabling them to develop shared understanding. In this way, interculturality can be used as a resource rather than as a stumbling block in the context of diversity.
