Culture is an important variable that influences both the process and possible outcomes of our interactions with others, whether they be at university, the grocery store or at work. Intercultural interactions are thus part of our daily and professional lives. Subsequently, the online session “Culture and social behaviour” analyses the breadth of characteristics inherent in “culture”. Here we examine concepts such as multi-collectivity, culture as a repertoire of knowledge and culture as a learned activity. In this section we explore ourselves as products but also producers of culture and recognise that we are both surrounded by and also embedded in culture.
