Examination regulations and academic integrity

Generative AI can be used very effectively for learning, e.g. by querying and creating self-tests. There are references to tools for this in the last module. It goes without saying that its use is not allowed during written or oral exams. However, the question of use becomes more difficult when writing scientific papers as a form of course work.

The Declaration of Permitted Resources (Freigabeerklärung)

The Declaration of Permitted Resources (Freigabeerklärung) offers your lecturers the option of explicitly allowing and, if necessary, restricting the use of generative AI for the creation of term papers as part of examinations. If it is present in addition to the Declaration of Academic Integrity, you may use AI in accordance with the conditions specified in the Declaration of Permitted Resources. Here we present the Declaration of Permitted Resources to you and show you what to look out for. Click on the hotspots to learn more.

The following section will address the most important traffic regulations and the traffic light exercise.

Now let's get down to practice. Check out the most important facts to consider when using generative AI tools in examinations and assess various situations accordingly.

Don't see the activity as a test, but as an active exploration of what you have learned here.
