Task: Case "Waiting for my colleague to be ready"

An office worker relates the following episode:

Upon entering my colleague's office, I noticed that he was sitting down, engrossed in a phone call. It was apparent that he wanted to speak to me. However, he continued his conversation without instructing me to take a seat. Consequently, I found myself standing in front of his desk for what felt like an eternity, although it was probably just a couple of minutes. When he eventually concluded his telephone call, he turned towards me with a friendly smile and said, "Sorry to keep you waiting; that was an urgent call. Please, have a seat."

Employing the expanded transactional model of communication, analyse this scenario, formulate hypotheses, and consider potential responses from the perspective of the person recalling the situation, demonstrating how the co-creation of meaning could unfold. Note down your analysis in your learning journal.
