The culture-reflexive approach can be considered a systematic way to deal with the knowledge we have or learn about culture, including our reflection on this knowledge. It works with different notions of culture with their respective theoretical traditions and combines them into 3 meta-perspectives that will be explained in the following sections:

  • Quasi-natural worldview as intercultural perspective
  • Systemic-constructivist co-construction based on the multi-collective approach
  • Power-reflexive practice because we practice power and its reduction

There is no fixed order when using the meta-perspectives, meaning that you can start with any one of them and use them like a kaleidoscope – just turn the dial to gain a new perspective on the scene. What is important is that we view the scenario from all three perspectives and consider the importance of each party's identity in a given situation.
