Participants in our online course ViTeams are likely to have differing experiences, varying degrees of cultural knowledge, as well as diverse needs, backgrounds and available time. This is why the course is thoughtfully structured in a way that accommodates individualised learning journeys. Participants can either focus on specific topics, or alternatively may wish to work through the sessions one by one.

Session one focuses on the relevance of virtual teams in a changing work environment and the characteristics of virtual teams. Thus, it is a session discussing the background to the course. Session two provides the learner with an understanding of culture and interculturality from an open perspective of culture and serves as a foundation of how culture and interculturality is understood by the team of authors. Session three takes the learners through a theoretical journey of team developing. This session is of particular relevant when working in a ViTeams whose members do not know each other. Session 4 considers role and role expectations and supports participants to reflect upon their “natural roles” and the roles needed within virtual intercultural teams. Session 5 is fundamental because it shows the pathway to create mutuality in ViTeams and to negotiate a culture a team is ready to acknowledge and live and which helps the team in using the resources available

In your role as instructor, you are therefore invited to curate a tailored learning journey depending on your participants’ needs, wishes, available experiences and resources.
